QWhat is a Unix timestamp?
A Unix timestamp is the number of seconds elapsed since 00:00:00 UTC on January 1, 1970 (the Unix epoch). It uniquely identifies a moment in time independent of timezone. This tool accepts both second-precision (10 digits) and millisecond-precision (13 digits) variants.
QHow are daylight saving time (DST) changes handled?
DST is handled automatically. All timezone conversions use the IANA timezone database via the browser's Intl API, which includes historical and future DST rules for every region.
QCan I add a timezone that isn't in the city list?
Yes. Type a valid IANA timezone identifier (e.g. America/Indiana/Indianapolis or Pacific/Marquesas) in the search box. The tool will validate it and offer an "Add custom timezone" option.
QWhat does the relative offset mean on each city card?
The relative offset (e.g. +2h or -3h 30m) shows how far ahead or behind that city is compared to your current local timezone, making it easy to mentally calculate meeting times.
